Ambassador of Guinea Visits Global Studies University to Discuss Academic and Cultural Collaboration

On April 29, 2025, His Excellency Sekou Cherifke Camara, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea to the United Arab Emirates, visited Global Studies University (GSU) for a high level meeting focused on strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between academic institutions in Guinea and GSU.

Ambassador Camara was accompanied by distinguished dignitaries from his office, who were received by Her Excellency Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi, President of GSU, Professor Salah M. Hassan, Chancellor of GSU and Dean of The Africa Institute; Professor Binyam Mendisu, Associate Dean of The Africa Institute; Emery Kalema, Assistant Professor of History; and Lauren Martinez Randé, Head of Culture and Communication at Alliance Française, and Audrey Leseigneur, Director of Alliance Français, Sharjah.

The meeting explored future opportunities for collaboration in research, education, and cultural exchange, with a particular emphasis on areas aligned with The Africa Institute’s ongoing work in African history, diplomacy, and the study of African languages and translation.

Hassan, Chancellor of GSU and Dean of The Africa Institute, GSU.

The collaboration with cultural institutions such as Alliance Française underscores The Africa Institute’s commitment to fostering multilingual and cross-cultural dialogue, further enhancing GSU’s broader academic mission.
