69th African Studies Association Annual Meeting

Global Studies University (GSU) will participate in the 69th African Studies Association (ASA) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This year’s theme, “Rupture and Remake: African Possibilities in a Shifting World,” invites discussion of how African societies respond to and shape a changing world. The meeting brings together more than 2,000 scholars, professionals, and members of the public for over 300 panels, roundtables, and workshops, alongside plenary events, an exhibit hall, awards, and film screenings.

Meet our team to learn about The Africa Institute at Global Studies University, our research and publications, and postgraduate study in Sharjah. We look forward to connecting with scholars, students, and colleagues working across African studies.

• Dates: Thursday–Sunday, December 3–6, 2026
• Location: New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
• Pre-conference: The PACT Workshop takes place on Wednesday, December 2.
