The Office of Career Placement & Alumni Affairs prepares postgraduate students to translate advanced academic training into professional impact. Students complete three semesters of a non-Western language, including Arabic, Amharic, Kiswahili, or Hausa, strengthening research, communication, and cultural understanding.

Graduates apply rigorous research methods to generate insight, inform projects, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
4. Global perspective with applied focus
Exposure to critical thematic fields, including African-Arab Relations, Intellectual Thought, Diaspora, Gender Studies and Feminist Futures, Political Economy, the Indian Ocean World, and the Muslim World, equips graduates to contribute immediately to initiatives requiring nuanced cultural understanding and global awareness.
