Instructions for wearing the regalia

1. Wearing the official GSU regalia is compulsory for all participating graduates for the whole of the formal ceremony.
2. The approved design must not be altered. The only changes permitted are the size adjustments agreed at fitting.
3. Sashes, flags, emblems, logos, symbols, personal embroidery and other additions representing a country or organization must not be worn during the ceremony or while crossing the stage.
4. Wear the gown, hood, and cap as shown in the official instructions and demonstrated at the rehearsal.
5. Wear formal clothing under the gown.
6. Wear closed-toe formal shoes you can walk and stand in comfortably. There is a long procession and extended standing.
7. Remain in full regalia until the Graduation Team confirms that the formal proceedings have ended.
