The Chancellor’s Office at Global Studies University announces the appointment of Dr. Maha Bashri as Director of Research and Programming, effective April 13, 2026.
Dr. Bashri is a scholar of media and communication with a record of research and academic leadership. She currently serves as Associate Professor at The Africa Institute, Global Studies University, and earned her Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina.
Her appointment reflects the University’s confidence in her academic leadership. In this role, she will lead the development of research initiatives and academic programming across the University, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing institutional research priorities.
