Osama Daoud Abdellatif

Chairperson, DAL Group Company Ltd, Invictus Trading Company, DAFZA, Dubai, UAE

Osama Daoud Abdellatif is the Chairperson of DAL Group, Sudan’s largest and most diversified conglomerate, headquartered in Khartoum. Over nearly five decades, he has transformed the company from its family origins into a multifaceted organization operating across key industries, including agriculture, food production, automotive, engineering, real estate, education, and financial services. Under his leadership, DAL Group’s agri-food businesses, such as Sayga Flour Mills, Blue Nile Dairy (CAPO), and DAL Food Industries, have redefined food production in Sudan. DAL Food, the country’s largest and most diverse food company, focuses on providing affordable, basic, staple foods and drinks for mass market consumption. DAL Food has been instrumental in introducing modern production and distribution methods for staples such as flour, dairy, water, sugar, and pasta, elevating food quality and reliability in a market dominated by unbranded bulk products.

Abdellatif also played a pivotal role in shaping Khartoum’s urban and commercial landscape. Through Alsunut Company, he developed the land between the White and Blue Niles into Khartoum’s new commercial hub, complete with infrastructure built to international standards.  In the engineering and automotive sectors, DAL Engineering, established in 1952 brought global brands like Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz, and KIA Motors to Sudan, revolutionizing the country’s transportation and infrastructure industries.

Beyond business, Mr. Abdellatif is a committed advocate for education and community development. In 2004, he founded the Khartoum International Community School (KICS), a non-profit institution offering International Baccalaureate (IB) education, fostering the next generation of leaders in Sudan. Abdellatif’s business ventures have also extended internationally, with significant initiatives in the UAE. These include the launch of Africa Gulf Bank (AGB) in collaboration with Abu Dhabi’s International Holding Company (IHC) and Invictus Investment Company, listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange. In 2022, he co-launched Air Arabia Sudan, connecting Sudan to Africa and the Middle East with enhanced air travel options. Under his stewardship, DAL Group has grown to employ over 10,000 people and indirectly support the livelihoods of more than 50,000 individuals. Mr. Abdellatif’s visionary leadership continues to shape industries, improve lives, and contribute to economic development both in Sudan and across the region.
