Language Courses

Explore our immersive language courses in Arabic, Amharic, Hausa, and Kiswahili, offered by Global Studies University (GSU). These courses allow students and professionals to gain cultural competence and linguistic skills, which are increasingly valuable in today’s interconnected world. Mastering these languages can enhance career opportunities, facilitate international collaboration, and provide a deeper understanding of the diverse cultures of Africa and the UAE.

GSU’s Languages and Translation Center offers comprehensive 60-hour courses at elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. Led by expert faculty, the program combines innovative teaching methods with flexible learning options, available both in-person and online. Each course includes immersive cultural experiences and culminates in a certification from Global Studies University and the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA).

For those pursuing our MA in Global African Studies, these language courses are an integral part of the curriculum, requiring three semesters of coursework to deepen understanding of Africa’s diverse linguistic landscapes and enhance interdisciplinary training.

Intakes are held every Fall and Spring.
