Ph.D. in Global Studies (coming soon)

We are excited to announce that the Ph.D. in Global Studies program will soon be offered. This comprehensive five-year program will provide students with a robust foundation in both coursework and dissertation research. Students will have the flexibility to choose between two specialization tracks: one focused on historical, political, and social studies, and the other on cultural, visual, and literary studies.

Our program is designed to accommodate students applying with or without a master’s degree. During the first two years, students will complete their doctoral coursework, leading to an MA degree upon passing the Admission to Candidacy examination. The remaining years will be dedicated to dissertation research and writing, with ongoing support and guidance from the faculty.

GSU offers financial support for all Ph.D. students, including full-tuition fellowships and stipends to cover living expenses.
